Join us on Saturday, July 4th from 12-4pm for CAMRA Vancouver’s 4th annual Session Cask Beer Festival, in collaboration with Steel Toad Brewpub and Dining Hall. The warmer months are a perfect opportunity to sample some low-alcohol beers that are high in flavour, and this year we’ve got a great selection for you. Breweries from all over BC have accepted our challenge of creating a cask beer full of flavour that remains under 5% ABV. It’s harder than it looks!
Join us as we take over Steel Toad’s vast and sunny dining room and patio for an afternoon of refreshing and delicious cask beer!
Details: $30 ($25 for CAMRA or Vanbrewers Members) – ticket price includes a 5oz taster glass (yours to take home) and 3 drink tokens. Additional drink tokens will be available for $1.50 each. Tickets on sale now
Steel Toad’s kitchen will have scrumptious snacks available for purchase to be enjoyed with any beer you’re sampling.
What is “sessional” or a session beer you ask?
Any style of beer that is brewed to be low in alcohol (5% or lower) without sacrificing flavor or the malt to hop balance, resulting in an extremely drinkable beer. The purpose of these beers is to allow repeated consumption over a long session without overwhelming the palate or coherence of the imbiber. The traditional bitters and milds of England typify session ales, but most any style can be brewed to be sessional.
Breweries include:
Mission Springs Brewing Co.
Dead Frog Brewery
Dogwood Brewing
Merridale Ciderworks
