Calvin Basran runs Frankie G’s Neighbourhood Pub in New 
Westminster and his daughter is battling Leukaemia. Obviously this is sad and unfortunate news for everyone but especially Calvin’s family. The BC Children’s Hospital has bent over backwards to help her through the treatments and explore all the options for the best outcome. Calvin has been really touched by the attention, time and compassion shown by all the doctors, nurses, and the entire foundation towards her and the family’s well being.
To say “thank you” to all the people who are helping them through this battle Frankie G’s Neighbourhood Pub is hosting a cask event on June 14th, 2014 from 1pm-6pm in association with CAMRA BC – South Fraser Branch. Lots of local merchants are pitching in with free support including a shuttle from the skytrain to the pub and back so that as much as possible can be collected for the kids.The event only costs $25 and will include 3 taster tickets and a taster glass. CAMRA BC members will receive 3 additional taster tickets upon showing their valid CAMRA BC card at the gate. Tickets are available here.
There will be DJs and a band. JackFM will be broadcasting live on site and it looks promising that Global TV will be making an appearance to interview Calvin about the event and his charitable contribution to the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation so let’s get out there and show some support!
“We all want this to be a great and successful event” says CAMRA BC – South Fraser Branch’s Events Coordinator Rory Wilkinson, “Practically ALL the proceeds are going straight to the donation. It’s truly not for profit. Any expenses that do occur are being funded by Calvin himself out of pocket. That’s just how big Calvin’s heart is. How could anyone not want to be a part of and support this?”
