#FUSS Update: Stateside Craft Change Glassware

After our first FUSS-testing trip on Commercial Drive we were surprised just how many places weren’t serving what they claimed. We contacted each of the locations via social media – most brushed us off or ignored us but Stateside Craft, the newest craft beer Mecca on the drive (40 taps of awesome) contacted us back immediately saying that they were taking steps to fix it quickly.
And they did! They rush ordered new glassware, paying extra for quick delivery and rolled them out at the weekend. We went down on Tuesday 15th July and retested their servings using our brand-new 40cl lab-calibrated cup to check their 400,000,000,000 picolitre serving size (cheeky, but I love it!).

Sorry about the dodgy pour that creates a lot of head but if you skip towards the end you can see that it is gradually settling out pretty much bang on the calibrated 400ml line! NAILED IT!

stateside nailed it

Congratulations to Stateside Craft and thanks for stepping up and doing the right thing for consumers, it’s businesses like this who are leading the way serving craft beer. So if you’ve not been  there yet I can give them the #FUSS seal of approval so you know that when you put your money down you’ll get every last picolitre of beer (or amazing cider) you paid for. FYI Monday is all-you-can-eat-bacon day!

It’s important that everyone knows that this isn’t a negative campaign – #FUSS wants to praise the places that nail their serving sizes and work with the places that don’t to help them comply with the law.

Not all locations have been this co-operative and collaborative but flushed with this success we went out again on Saturday 12th July to Gastown and did 8 tests in 7 locations – only one out of the eight nailed it and it might not be the place you expect…

Stay tuned for more #FUSS testing over the next few weeks and hopefully more of these success stories!
