Hello members and friends!
It’s that time of year again – that time where we call out for members to join us for our Annual General Meeting. This is going to be taking place at Central City Beatty (871 Beatty Street) on Sunday, February 25 12-4pm. Doors will open at 12:00, but meeting will start at 1:00 sharp. This will be a chance to see the year in review and elect a new Executive Board for the upcoming year. Don’t forget to RSVP here so we know to expect you.
If you would like to nominate a member in good standing for an executive role, you can do so by following these simple steps:
1) Email secretary@camravacnouver.ca, cc the person you wish to nominate.
2) Add the person’s name to the body of the email and let us know you wish to nominate them
3) Have a beer to celebrate!
Anyone nominated will have to reply to the secretary to let us know if they accept or decline their nomination before the AGM.
On the topic of executive roles… before you all ask, I will tell you, I am not running for a fourth term as president. Three has been more than enough. Thankfully, my shoes are not too big to fill and someone can easily pick it up and keep running. There are many other board positions to run for as well (see the descriptions here.) Are you interested but don’t know what it entails? We are planning an drop-in event for our last board meeting of the year. If you are curious about stepping into a role next year this is a great opportunity to see what it’s like, be a part if our discussions and get a feel for it all. It will be happening at Luppolo Brewing Company, our 2016 member-voted Best New Brewery, on February 7th at 6pm.
